Garmin StreetPilot c550 auto gps - review

So where do you want to go? Los Angeles? New York? Europe? No matter
where you live or where you want to go, you won't get lost with Garmin's
StreetPilot c550 GPS navigational system. Loaded with maps of Europe and
North America, the StreetPilot c550 has turn-by turn directions, spoken
street names and an MP3 player that allows you to include points of
interest. That's a lot of information for a portable GPS navigational
system that only measures at 4.4 by 3.2 by 2.2 inches and weighs only 9.5
ounces. And you won't have to use your hands a lot to use the StreetPilot.

Why do some many people say that the StreetPilot c550 is one of the best
auto GPS systems they have ever used? Let's look at some of its features.
Have you ever tried to look at your cell phone screen while driving but
couldn't read it because of the glare of the sun? That won't happen with
the StreetPilot c550. The anti-glare display keeps you from squinting to
read a sun-drenched screen. The screen has a 320x240-pixel resolution and
bright colors making it easy to read. The StreetPilot has a windshield
mount that is easy to install.

Compatible with BlueTooth technology, you can talk on the phone without
taking your hands off the wheel. If someone calls you, just tap the
screen to answer. You can even transfer your phone book to this auto GPS
unit. The touch screen technology makes it easy to make calls without a
lot of distraction. If you are on the road and you want to find a good
restaurant or hotel, the StreetPilot has a points of interest database.
You can call any of these places using your portable GPS.

If your commute is often challenged by stop and go traffic, the
StreetPilot c550 can alert you to where those jams are and suggest an
alternate route. This portable GPS unit is programmed with Clear
Channel's Total Traffic Network. When you purchase the StreetPilot, get
three months of free service with the purchase of the StreetPilot c550.
If you want to continue the service, it is $60 a year.

If you want to save money, you can purchase the "Savers Guide" from
Garmin which includes coupons and discounts on hotels, restaurants,
shopping from thousands of businesses in North America. A travel guide
for Europe is also available for purchase.

The StreetPilot has Garmin's anti-theft lock preventing it from being
taken by thieves. It also comes with a rechargeable battery that can last
for up to eight hours. Priced at around $500 from most retailers, the
StreetPilot 550 auto GPS is a one of the best values in a GPS
navigational system.
